Live DMA is an umbrella association made up of 7 national networks of venues and festivals. Six of those are involved in this project. Live DMA will function as the coordinator of this project. Live DMA represents 769 venues and festivals in Europe.
ACCES was founded in late 2004 to bring together the current music scene in Spain. It is intended to help to structure the sector reflecting the specific national identities that coexist within the Spanish State, to establish associations and regional authorities in the Autonomous Communities, to represent places with public partners, including the State and civil society, promote the dissemination of new directories and / or minority, to work for the sustainability of places up and support the creation of suitable places. ACCEs represents around 109 venues in Spain.
Club circuit is a federation of music venues whose projects are focused on the organization of concerts (pop – rock – dance – world). Founded in 1996, it now gathers 11 agencies spread throughout Flanders and defends the interests of its members, takes care of raising funds and implementing communication campaigns and joint movement of artists within this network.
Court - Circuit / Club Plasma
Club Plasma is a network of concert organizers located in Wallonia and Brussels. Coordinated by the Association Court Circuit since 2006, it aims to professionalize the activities specifically focused on popular music, promote joint promotion and improving the infrastructure of existing sites. These places, which represent the major cities of the French-speaking Belgium, also offer artist residencies, training and rehearsal.
FEDELIMA is the result of the recent (December 2012) merging between “Fédurok” (popular music venues network) and “Fédération des scenes de Jazz” (French jazz venues network). FEDELIMA is a national network of music venues whose current projects revolve around the distribution and support of artistic practices in the area of live music. It is now gathering over 140 venues spread across the French territory. The network conducts observation, analysis and support tools to help the operators to professionalize and to grow around in partnership with their politic, economic and civil environment. The new activities project of FEDELIMA is divided into three areas of work: artistic, territories and environment of the venues, and cultural policies for the venues.
VNPF is an organization serving an established venue and festival community, focused on creating and driving platforms that service fundamental industry needs.
VNPF is an association of 92 rock/pop venues and festivals. Other kind of programmes like jazz, spoken word, (slam)poetry, comedy, et cetera are of increasing importance. VNPF unites almost all (small and big) more important venues and festivals in the Netherlands. Objectives of VNPF are serving the common interests of the venues towards government (cities, provinces and state), audiences and performing artists, serving its members and promoting their professionalism, promoting pop culture as a performing arts in general, organising network meetings. About learning activities, VNPF participates in the Academy for the Performing Arts a compound annual number of courses specially designed for professionals in the performing arts. VNPF has each year at least two interns in the office. They come from high vocational education or an university. They get the chance to gain practical experience or graduate on a topic in our industry. We are currently developing a management development program for ‘young’ professionals.
Danish association of venues and festivals
Dansk Live represents approximately 100 live music organizers in Denmark and was founded in 2011 after merging the two associations FestivalDanmark (founded 2003) and [spillesteder dk] (founded 1972). Dansk Live is governed by a committee consisting of members. The members of Dansk Live are all live music organizers within Denmark. They all have a strong musical profile with an overall purpose of music and great concert experiences for audiences.
Dansk Live arranges seminars, courses and other activities for the members, which ensures improved skills and the sharing of knowledge. In addition, the organization arranges projects, campaigns and events, which not only ensures extra revenue but also interesting and relevant activities for the live operators. Furthermore, Dansk Live provides legal advice and other expert assistance to live music organizers and ensures a constant reinforcement of the live concert organizer’s position towards commercial partners.
Dansk Live is independent of party political interests, receives no government grants and is mainly financed by membership fees.
